Summary of Job Duties:The Intermediate Clinical Informaticist plays a vital role in optimizing healthcare data management and electronic health record systems. This position involves analyzing clinical workflows, providing technical support, and implementing informatics solutions to enhance patient care. The informaticist collaborates with clinical staff to identify needs, develops training programs, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field of study plus 5 yrs experience in a healthcare informatics role, or project management role

OR

  • Master's degree in health informatics, healthcare data analytics or related field of study plus 3 yrs experience in a healthcare informatics role, or project management role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven programming experience in one or more programming languages is required. Strong coding skills, visualization building, and data analytics experience.
  • Clinical practice with specialty certification of any length may be considered, particularly if eligible for a clinical practice pathway to Informatics sub-specialty certification.
  • Coding languages: SQL

Software: Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge: General knowledge regarding electronic health record database structure, health record reporting, and data visualization

Additional Information:

  • The informaticist's primary duties involve analyzing and managing clinical data to improve healthcare delivery and the user experience of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • This position is also tasked with ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met, promoting operational efficiency while safeguarding the quality and integrity of UAMS EHR data.
  • As a member of the Decision Support Committee (DSC), the Intermediate Clinical Informaticist provides recommendations on optimizing decision support tools, such as order sets, alerts, and workflow processes used within the EHR.
  • Additionally, the informaticist works within the clinical informatics team to expand the use of reporting tools both within and outside of the EHR, driving data insights and promoting user proficiency with these tools.
  • The development of custom reporting solutions to address informatics and institutional data inquiries.
  • The informaticist utilizes various reporting programs and tools to solve complex problems, such as combining disparate datasets, creating unique metrics, and innovating solutions to enhance clinical informatics and achieve operational goals.
  • The individual significantly contributes to the improvement of clinical and operational efficiency for UAMS Health.
  • This position does include an educational component to support clinical informatics rotations specific to data analytics content.
