Ingram Marine Groupis seeking aLaborer, Leadfor ourBurnside, LA terminal. In this position you will be responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operation at our rail, truck, and barge terminals.

The Laborer, Lead's primary purpose is the safe and efficient operation of company equipment to life and move heavy equipment and materials on site. They are also responsible for overseeing a crew of laborers and crane/equipment operators, ensuring their safety and productivity.

What you'll be doing:

  • Operating and maintaining a variety of cranes, loaders, and forklifts according to Ingram's standards of excellence
  • Pumping and inspecting barges
  • Assigning tasks to laborers and crane/equipment operators, ensure they are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Providing guidance to laborers on safe work operations and equipment operations
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, customers, and other team members
  • Reporting any safety hazards or equipment issues to proper parties
  • Ability and knowledge to operate all cranes, loaders, and forklifts on site
  • Ability to draft barges
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstration of the Ingram Way
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to make quick decisions for effective job production
  • Strong mechanical capacity, commitment to Ingram's expectation of Zero Harm.
  • Ability to operate the following equipment is a plus: cherry picker, link belt, cat crane/hydraulic cranes, American cranes

Candidates must:

  • Possess a High School diploma or GED
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work daily
  • Pass a post-offer process of an offer is made (background check, drug screen, and physical)
  • At least one year of experience and able to operate cranes, loaders, and forklifts
  • Job includes working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods of time
