Description and Requirements

Site Quality Manager -

Location: Whitsett, North Carolina

Job Type: Regular Full-time (No Remote)

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Responsibilities:

Identifies, develops and validates appropriate reporting and sampling criteria that can be measured and routinely analyzed to develop trend analysis reports that can be used by internal management, and business partners. Candidate ensures compliance to corporate and external customer specifications and standards. The Site Quality Manager validates product inspections and test processes and results in accordance with the quality management systems. This position's functions are vast, focusing largely on the service needs of customers. Provides friendly, courteous and professional service by assisting management and customers on a wide variety of Quality functions. This position reports directly into the Plant Manager.

Key Primary responsibilities are:

  • Delights customers and peers with service that is cheerful, professional, and thorough, anticipating the customer's needs, responding in a fast, responsible manner.
  • Able to complete designated forms in Word and Excel, and performs computer operations in the designated WMS/Repair/Refurb systems utilized by the operations.
  • Manage Quality Agreements and Control Plans for Suppliers and Service providers that define clear quality objectives.
  • Applies intermediate knowledge about Lenovo services and demonstrates ability to find resources.
  • Understands and applies policies and procedures associated within the organization and local department.
  • Oversee all activities related to quality management systems.
  • Participates in new product development, and establish quality and reliability expectancy of the finished product.
  • Customer interface for Quality related matters
  • Supports managing reporting of test equipment and process validation activities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, metrics KPI's, and quality controls.
  • Maintain quality involvement with compliance programs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, & RBA Standards & Accountability (Responsible Business Alliance)
  • Ensure maintenance of legible and comprehensive inspection records and test reports using computer aided collection devices and manually generated documentation.
  • Create, input, edit, maintain and retrieve computer data utilized in trend analysis through statistical inspection techniques and identifies possible sources of variations.
  • Maintain and develop audit processes of all site operations.
  • Respond to quality issues reported by employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive quality management and quality operating strategy that provides benchmark levels of product integrity, reliability and interchangeability.
  • Monitor, evaluate, analyze, develop, implement and improve the key indicators of product and service quality.
  • Provide continuing support to Operations in analyzing quality trend data, resolving issues and implementing corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Process improvement: PDCA, Lean Concepts, Poke-Yoke, as well as GDP
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma methodology into the Plant base and support the Green Belt Initiatives set by Plant Management.
  • Supports development of change control process for database and reporting system to allow the addition of new data fields and reports as business needs arise.
  • Performs Quality Management reviews for the continuous improvement of company wide quality, including support of Lean processes, as well as chairs the Process and Product improvement meetings.
  • Identify, promote, deliver and utilize quality system tools, techniques and concepts to address critical, urgent and systemic quality problems.
  • Serve as a technical and quality interface to customers and suppliers.
  • Manage the internal and external audit processes.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by plant management, corporate and Senior Management

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in contract manufacturing QA Systems(plus) regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.Direct knowledge of ISO 9001-2008, TL9000, IPC Standards, J Standards, and lean practices and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in quality in a repair/refurbishment environment
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Order Fulfilment Quality Engineering desired
  • Exceptional customer service skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), listening skills, ability to ask questions.
  • Ability to learn, make decisions and be creative/flexible.
  • Accuracy, efficient and proactive in completion of duties.
  • Positive attitude, positive workplace behavior, self motivated.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (SAP, Oracle, etc...)
  • Metrics measurements (i.e. delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)
  • Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Lean Mfg, Six Sigma, ISO, internal 3K initiatives)
  • Supports Safety Program compliance (OSHA, DOT, and state and local agencies)
  • Proven competencies in typical corporate software suites (i.e. MS Office)
  • Electronics manufacturing background required EMS, Repair,.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate, report, select and implement cost-effective, distribution operations.
  • Experience with team-based product development/APQP approach, with hands-on experience with FMEA, and Control plans.
  • Manage all activities for and act as site coordinator for internal quality (E3K) initiative.
