What you will do:



  • Generate and distribute weekly, monthly and year to date KPI metrics data for schedule compliance, PM compliance, reactive work, overdue PMs, Safety and Environmental backlog, and aging backlog. Perform other analysis as required.
  • Interactcross functionally with members of the management staff to ensure production processes are not interrupted during plant upsets.
  • Monitor the planner backlog to ensure the workload is being managed properly.
  • Develop and ensure the uniform implementation of planning policies and procedures, and initiates efforts to streamline and improve those policies and procedures.
  • Continuously monitoremployee performance and identity any areas where improvement is needed to align with company goals and objectives.
  • Overseethe development and finalization of weekly work schedules for all areas, crews and crafts in accordance with the accepted work order process flow.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance (PM) work order system as an on-going mission to ensure the PMs remain robust, are effective, add value, and align with the Nutrien Maintenance and Reliability best practice's philosophy.
  • Assist the maintenance and engineering departments as required to prepare and establish TAR/Small Capital Project budgets and work scopes.
  • Conduct routine planning and scheduling group meetings to discuss safety issues/concerns, group productivity, new guidance information, employee concerns, and continuous improvement ideas that will make the Planning and Scheduling team more effective.
  • Provide a leading example for participation and supportive engagement to the Planning and Scheduling group members in all site safety programs and initiatives such as the SWAT Safety Process and the Five Key Daily Actions, all of which are designed to ensure employees return home safe and injury free each day.
  • Superviseand coordinatethe day-to-day operations of the Planning and Scheduling group.
  • Provide training and overseeing the orientation of new Planning and Scheduling employees to ensure they are fully aware of all the policies and procedures throughout the site and company.
  • Administer and provide oversight to Planner/Scheduler vacations, sick, and other employee leaves as outlined by Nutrien procedural guidance.
  • Provide the Planning and Scheduling staff with excellent leadership by offering formal training, and development opportunities that will allow them to grow as a cohesive team and as individuals.
  • Ensure manager is kept informed of any disruptive or otherwise non-productive activities being conducted and administer discipline as the situation dictates.
  • Oversee the scheduling of shared cranes, manlifts, and other equipment across the site.
  • Assume an active and leading role in the coordination, preparation, creation, upkeep, progress updating, and preservation of turnaround schedules in Primavera P6 during all phases of respective projects such as Turnaround, or other special projects.
  • Serve as the custodian for all maintenance process workflows, where you will create and update them as required, or as change dictates.
  • Serve as and assume role of the Site Lead for the Oracle Asset Management System where you will:

    • Develop expert knowledge in the Oracle asset management system.
    • Attend the scheduled Business Technology Support (BTS) meetings to stay abreast of any changes made withing the system and communicate them out as required.
    • Lead any change management initiatives resulting from system upgrades.
    • Coordinate Oracle upgrade testing participants as new features are added to the system.
    • Serve as the "go to" person for any technical assistance needed by Oracle users within the site.
    • Initiate system trouble tickets to Oracle Administration and provide technical assistance in helping to resolve any known issues.
    • Write Job-Aides as required to assist other users with system functionality.
    • Provide training to users on system functionality as required.
    • Serve as liaison between Oracle users and the Oracle Administration team to resolve any issues that arise.
    • Ensure all areas have sufficient work request approvers.
    • Oversee the creation of new assets within the system.
    • Create/Update distribution lists for system generated reports, (i.e. New Work Arising, WO Time Entry Validation, etc.)


  • Serve as and assume role of Oracle Superuser where you will:

    • Oversee and maintain technician adds, deletions, moves within the system.
    • Review all changes implemented by Oracle Administration to ensure all employee setups are correct.
    • Approve/administer user access and permission sets, backing up Admin Supervisor.





What you will bring:



  • High School Diploma.
  • Post-high school degree in Industrial Maintenance or maintenance-related discipline, preferred.
  • B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in industrial maintenancewith supervisory experience.

    • Must be skilled and possess in-depth knowledge of: Piping, Mechanical, Utilities, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Ground Maintenance.


  • Experience in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling, required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills, computer skills and the ability to achieve results through others.
  • Ability to Formulate/Read Sketches, Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Knowledge of the Phosphate chemical processes is desirable but experience at well-established maintenance departments is considered.
  • Applied proficiency

    • Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6 scheduling applications.
    • Applied proficiency in the operation of the Oracle E-Business Suite, or other CMMS.
    • Applied proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
