JOB SUMMARY:

Reliability Test Engineer responsible for package- and wafer-level reliability tests to qualify fabrication processes of high voltage power, sensor, and other products based on reliability physics knowledge and device characterization skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop methodologies and perform reliability tests, including metal interconnection life-test, time-dependent dielectric breakdown test, and device instability test under temperature and bias stresses.
  • Design test experiments to bring conclusive result utilizing the knowledge of reliability physics and statistics for reliability and deliver reliability qualification report to internal and external customers.
  • Lead root-cause analysis of reliability test failures collaborating with design layout, process integration, test engineering, failure analysis, and other related team members.
  • Review and/or design test structures for reliability, provide feedback for accurate and efficient test with quality of statistics, and make documentation on the test structure, methodologies, and procedure.
  • Research and explore new ways of reliability tests, especially for new materials or products, for example products using wide-band gap semiconductor materials like silicon carbide or gallium nitride.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders related to reliability tests: including customer representative, test engineering, process integration teams and tester vendors to ensure accurate measurement with right test conditions which align customer requirements.
  • Own reliability test equipment/systems and manage reliability test area in device/tech develop lab, provide inputs in selecting test equipment, perform other reliability test and qualification related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge on device/reliability physics and statistics for reliability
  • Semiconductor device characterization experience (parametric analyzer, wafer prober)
  • Data analysis skills using JMP, SQL, R, or Python/Pandas, etc.
  • Knowledge on photo mask layout and process integration scheme
  • Experience using automatic parametric test or reliability test system is a plus.
  • Semiconductor TCAD simulation tool experience is a plus.
  • Problem solving, writing, and communication.
