HNHF Program Coordinator- Economic Opportunity Program

The HNHF Program Coordinator- Economic Opportunity will assist in the coordination and implementation of Nationwide Children's Hospital's income tax filing assistance program and other financial resource programs in the Linden neighborhood and other target neighborhoods for Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families (HNHF). The Economic Opportunity program will also include individual counseling, financial wellness mentoring, individual tax preparing, and other forms of community education. The services of this program will include collaboration with other HNHF staff who work on workforce development, housing, and support for youth with incarcerated parents.

Responsibilities

* Implements and coordinates the HNHF VITA Income Tax Preparation program in a way that prioritizes services for families with children who are eligible for supports like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
* Provide individual counseling and support to Linden community residents seeking help with improving their overall financial wellness. Such support should include, but is not limited to, debt management, building savings, credit score improvement, public benefit assistance, and access to equitable mainstream financial services.
* Creates avenues and resources for community education around the use of consumer loans and credit cards, the home buying process, and employment and job readiness. All developments in the area should emphasize using fair, equitable, and affordable services while empowering participants to recognize and avoid unequitable, predatory financial practices.
* Implement a comprehensive financial resource program that serves low to moderate income households in the Linden community.
* Assists with recruiting and training of temporary staff who support the HNHF VITA Income Tax Preparation program.
* Supports the maintenance of the current My Bridge 2 Success mobility mentoring program for members in the HNHF neighborhoods.
* Collaborates in the coordination of marketing outreach materials and activities that support participant recruitment and broader awareness of the Economic Opportunity program in the Linden community.
* Organizes and leads community partner meetings. Cultivates a network of relationships between the Economic Opportunity program and community partners.



Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a field of study relevant to personal finance or equivalent work experience, required.

Certifications:
Professional certifications relevant to providing financial counseling services, required.

Skills:
* Effective customer service, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills required for interaction with contacts.
* Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds, required.
* Skill in using personal computers, databases, and word processing software, required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Ability to handle multiple functions simultaneously and efficiently, required.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, required.
* Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
* Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.

Experience:
Experience in program development and coordination, required.
