  • Part-Time, .6 FTE, 48 hours biweeky
  • Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center
  • Located in Janesville, WI

Schedules appointments for patients by telephone or in person by performing the following duties. Assists the mammography department with the regulatory guidelines as required by MQSA and FDA. Required to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods. Performs necessary applications on EPIC and PACS. Assists with interviewing and training new staff. Assists with performing partner evaluations May be asked to flex to various start times and additional shifts as needed to cover the dept. hours. Maintains staffing levels in accordance with system standards.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Can perform all duties of a Radiology receptionist.
  • Assists in the record keeping in accordance with MQSA
  • Works to maintain the sharing and importing of mammography studies into PACS
  • Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduling system. Checks exam orders in Epic.
  • Works closely with physicians, nurses, technologists to coordinate patient exams to expedite patient care.
  • Preforms cancels, reschedules and makes modifications to exam orders as needed
  • Telephones patients to give them prep and lab instructions when needed
  • Works with non-Mercy physicians to have exams performed within Mercy Health System and enters those orders Releases orders from Epic.
  • Coordinates biopsies with interventional nurses, the modality involved and the radiologist to insure all are available.
  • Notifies hospital registration dept., radiology front office, pre-cert dept. and modality of all add on exams to insure that the exam is preauthorized and performed expediently.
  • Uses read back method when taking orders and scheduling exams.
  • Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
  • Can manage up to 3 software applications simultaneously.
  • Assists with other medical office needs.
  • Gathers together weekly and monthly stats.
  • Orders, receives and maintains office supplies.
  • Utilizes appropriate scripting and patient identifiers.
  • Works on committees and projects as assigned and completes them in the needed time frame.
  • Assists manager or director with projects, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Performs patient registration for imaging patients.
  • Insures that all office equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
  • Maintains policies and procedures that pertain to scheduling

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Medical terminology recommended
History of three years of reception recommended
