Position Highlights The Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, building, delivering, and maintaining technology solutions that enhance operations and learning. This role involves managing complex IT infrastructure, including virtualized environments and cloud services. The position demands expertise in technology strategy, policies, plans, and architecture. The incumbent will work independently except for new projects and is expected to influence others within and outside the job function regarding policies, standards, and processes. This position will support University of Arizona Global Campus.

Candidates working anywhere in the U.S. may be considered for remote assignment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, support, and maintain servers, operating systems, and related applications.
  • Manage the suite of services in the Office365 environment, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerBI.
  • Monitor system performance, identify constraints, and implement optimizations to improve performance and access future resource needs.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures, conducting testing to validate recovery capabilities.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect from security threats and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve system scalability, reliability, and security, leveraging scripting languages and automation tools.
  • Manage end-to-end IT projects, overseeing planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful and timely project delivery within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to evaluate products, negotiate contracts, and ensure the successful implementation of solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, capturing insights and contributing to the knowledge base to facilitate knowledge sharing and transfer across the team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or related field AND Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

OR

  • Equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure.
  • Experience in non-profit higher education enterprise environment.
  • Technical experience with MS .NET, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Message Queuing Service (MSMQ), and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Microsoft Certifications
