Overview

You will come into a Oracle Database Engineer and Developer role as a hands-on professional contributor, responsible for co-managing, maintaining, and supporting our entire Oracle database estate, including database design, implementation, and programming activities in the strategic Treasury Modelling Analytics (TMA) function across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) lifecycle. TMA is one of Deutsche Bank's key group strategic analytics model development and execution platforms, currently comprised of three critical components: Python and R code bases that cater to both modeling and analytical requirements; several Oracle 12 and ExaCC databases (in order of terabytes of data); and strong controls and SDLC driven environments and deployment pipelines that strictly adhere to Deutsche Bank's standardized Agile/DevOps SDLC governance requirements and policies.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for co-managing, maintaining, and evolving entire DEV / UAT/ PRODUCTION Oracle estate our TMA's purview as per business and IT requirements

  • You will be responsible for programming, deploying, and maintaining all types of Oracle programming artifacts (e.g., Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts and queries, PL/SQL stored procedures and functions, materialized views) in our TMA's Oracle database estate

  • You will provide deep expertise and follow standardized and well-established practices in the design and effective programming all kinds of Oracle database components - logical and physical schemas, tables, indexes, queries, stored procedures, functions, etc. -in a complex Oracle/Python/R software-based modeling execution platform

  • You will assist with the day-to-day co-managing, monitoring, and support of our Dev / UAT / Prod Oracle platforms, own all required change management activities and tasks, and directly assist all direct and extended TMA teams and stakeholders responsible for their daily functional and non-functional operations

  • You will provide subject matter expertise in Oracle programming (both native and non-native) for implementing effective and optimal database design, implementation, and programming solutions to all current and future modeling, deployment, and support requirements

How You'll Lead

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the extended TMA team, including Modeling, Data Engineering and Infrastructure in effective Oracle programming best practices, implementation and optimization

  • Lead engagement with stakeholders from all US and global technology teams, and other strategic platforms' leads

  • Proposing and implementing time effective plans to integrate closely with key Agile/DevOps and SDLC Governance frameworks, standards and practices as applicable to the Oracle runtime estate

Skills You'll Need

  • Extensive hands-on experience in programming Oracle database artifacts (e.g., queries, stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, relationships, etc.) using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL., SQL scripts; good python programming experience (e.g., cx_Oracles or similar, Pandas)

  • Extensive experience in optimizing existing Oracle artifacts, including database schemas, queries, SQL statements, etc

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Working knowledge or strong programming experience in the R programming language.

  • Working knowledge of behavioral modeling analytics, CCAR stress testing / capital planning

  • Experience with other open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL database (Cassandra, MonoDB, etc.)

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $180,000 to $250,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
