Summary of Job Duties:The Department of Psychological Science invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. UA Little Rock is a doctoral-intensive metropolitan university serving a diverse student body of approximately 10,000 full- and part-time students. The Department of Psychological Science houses one of the largest degree programs at UALR with about 500 active majors, state-of-the-art classrooms, and both flexible and fixed laboratory resources (e.g., statistics, developmental, bio-behavioral, emotion-cognition laboratories.) Support for faculty and student-engaged research and the pursuit of extramural funding is possible. Candidates who have already been teaching and have an active research program and those from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, ABD considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • A focus in one of the following: Human Factors, Emotion and Motivation, Learning, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, or Human Experimental Psychology.

  • Experience teaching Psychological Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology.

  • Existing scholarship in area of expertise

Job Duties:

  • Teaching to include courses in Statistics and Research Methods;

  • Exhibit a commitment to writing in the discipline;

  • Engage in research and scholarship activities;

  • Supervise student research and internships;

  • Advise students in the major;

  • Participate in service activities in the program, college, university, and the Little Rock community.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience in online teaching and integrating technology in teaching;

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of learners;

  • Desire to engage in professional service activities in the community;

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate;
