HJF is seeking a Project Manager I to providing technical project oversight and resource management over ongoing projects at the Center. Specific areas of responsibility include: managing operational elements of one or more individual projects, personnel management, internal and external communication, project management for new product development, and reporting budget requirements to Executive leadership. Applicants must possess the ability to provide customer service in a culturally sensitive, accessible, and inclusive manner that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences' Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP), which is based in Rockville, MD. The Project Manager I assists with activities related to CDP's mission, which is to lead the development of a community of culturally mindful and clinically competent providers through the delivery of high-quality training and education, the convening of experts, and the dissemination of research-based treatment and the latest topics in military behavioral health. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) provides administrative and management support to the Center. CDP strives to be the central hub for the Military Health System (MHS) in the development and implementation of training and education to clinicians in order to ensure that all service members, veterans, and their families receive quality behavioral healthcare that meets their unique needs.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Tracks multiple projects, including manpower utilization, workflow, and operational procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, and make overall improvements for the program.
  • Document project scope and plan, confirming objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones and deadlines, funding, and available resources with key stakeholders. Produce and distribute project status reports and documents.
  • Communicate and collaborate with others, including but not limited to project team members, management and other key stakeholders about project requirements and objectives.
  • Document and evaluate existing processes, procedures and guidelines making recommendations for enhancements and improvements as appropriate. Obtain approval for out-of-scope modifications.
  • Facilitates information flow regarding services and products between project members, subject matter experts and Center leadership.
  • Assists with the scheduling of conference calls, video teleconferences, and meetings for project team meetings and between CDP staff and outside parties
  • Act as point of contact for outside organizations, vendors, and subcontractors for services and products.
  • Assists with the development and formulation of Fiscal Year budget requests.
  • Regularly reports to the Executive Staff and teammates on overall project deliverables, progress, and goals.
  • Submits relevant project data to assist in developing Quarterly Reports for review by the Director and Assistant Director prior to publication to the CDP leadership.
  • Support staff by providing assistance with technology as needed.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred. A degree in

    Psychology, IT, Marketing, Business, Public Health or a related field is preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work completely independently
  • Sound judgment in solving problems
  • Ability to coordinate many complex systems and programs at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team
  • Works well in teams and independently
  • Confidence taking the initiative and working with subject matter experts and faculty
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software
  • Knowledge of military culture and the social sciences/behavioral health field is a plus.
  • Technology knowledge and skills preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$70,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
