PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Fleet Maintenance Technician repairs, major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, Dump Trucks, lawn equipment or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; lighting, and ignition systems, Hydraulic systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Perform preventive maintenance for all light duty vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment
* Ensure all environmental compliance requirements related to fleet maintenance are followed
* Ensure proper shop stock is on hand to perform routine tasks
* Remove repair and replace tires
* Assist drivers in addressing vehicle issues and accurately document maintenance tasks.
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and vehicle issues.
* Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn or broken parts.
* Fit and adjust new or repaired parts as needed.
* Work safely, independently, or in teams with attention to detail and minimal supervision.
* Maintain a clean and orderly workshop environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Formal Training from accredited training institute or Military training school desired
* ASE certification desired but not mandatory
* Previous experience with industrial landscaping equipment preferred.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
* Ability to lift heavy material up to 70 pounds continuously and operate material handling equipment.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
* Welding skills preferred for fabricating shields, attachments, and brackets.
* Experience operating heavy equipment is advantageous.
* Must have own tools.
