Position Description:

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist serves as a resource and advocate for all employees to ensure their anticipated and acknowledged needs are addressed. The HR Generalist ensures consistency in the application of company policies and procedures, administers payroll, benefits and HR systems within the department while maintaining an atmosphere of trust and confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Administers company benefit plans by providing assistance to associates on benefits.
  • Oversees time and attendance system (UKG) to help ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Responsible for hourly recruitment and selection process.
  • Conducts and coordinates all new associate orientations
  • Initiates and tracks performance appraisals.
  • Recommends discipline, hiring, discharge, and other employment decisions
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of human resource files and database.
  • Creates reports to support the needs of the facility.
  • Coordinates internal job postings and shift change requests.
  • Responsible for communicating general information to associates through bulletin board maintenance, email communication, and other media.
  • Participates in planning special events and communications.
  • Responsible for tracking employee leave of absences and acts as a liaison between the employee and vender.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience. Three or more years of previous HR experience.

Skills and Abilities



  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with others and comprehensive organizational skills.


  • Must be detailed-oriented and have ability to plan to set deadlines on numerous projects. Capable of performing a variety of tasks of often-changing assignments or priorities on short notice.


  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


  • Experience in UKG/Kronos and Microsoft Teams is preferred.
