The Dispatch Lead will assist the Sr. Operations Manager, Dispatch is responsible for managing all deliveries for Mansfield along with Inventory managing strategic accounts. This position will also be responsible for training all the dispatch team to a standard to service our internal and external customers. This position will also lead the entire team and company as first line of contact to problem solve.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management -Strategic Accounts

  • 40% of daily time spent working inventory management for strategic accounts
  • Actively monitor designated customer's tank readings
  • Plan deliveries as indicated by current fuel level and average daily usage
  • Monitor market direction and adjust delivery time as necessary to manage customer fuel needs with the company's best purchasing opportunities
  • Document specific customer inventory requests

Training

  • Assist with On-Boarding of New Hires
  • Develop and maintain training regimen and Dispatch I and II
  • Daily performance feedback to Dispatch team
  • Identify and document best practices for Dispatch team

Problem Solving Daily Dispatch Activities

  • Identify solution in emergency and offer alternate solution
  • Lead Dispatch I & II members when alternate solutions need to be resolved for any situation
  • Identify previous best practice with dispatch role
  • Identify new and different practices, then document for training
  • Identify opportunities associated with deliveries and inventory management, such as retains, release numbers not given for delivery, inventory levels etc.
  • Help with supply when securing loads and planning
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues that prevent the billing of customers.

Logistics Coordination

  • Train dispatch members to coordinate, and manage FTL freight from terminal groups to customer locations
  • Build strong relationships with carriers to create a more profitable freight coordination
  • Develop and implement terminal group sourcing adjustments based on arbitrage opportunities
  • Train team members to make decisions efficiently and independently within guidelines
  • Carrier performance program management collaboration in the development of policy and/or future business awards
  • In the event a carrier declines an order or is unable to meet the delivery requirements, coach as needed with team members to obtain secondary option to ensure delivery meets the customer's expectation
  • Support retain resolution timely and identify process improvements within the team(s)

Supply Execution Support

  • Collaborate with the Supply team to develop/enhance strategic direction of the established region(s)
  • Support carrier phone calls and emails to provide loading direction in an efficient and professional manner, based on established enhanced autonomy per established thresholds
  • Coordinate with Supply regarding contract compliance and make recommendations based on arbitrage opportunities, cost of supply...
  • Review and address carrier lifting accuracy

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (i.e Operations or Supply Chain Management)

Knowledge & Experience

  • Min 3 years of prior experience in dispatching or supply chain preferred
  • Petroleum experience preferred
  • Confident skills with Microsoft Office suite

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and move between activities that require immediate response
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders

Work Environment

  • 40-hour on-site work week (either day shift or night shift)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
