Assistant Professor of Special Education Position The Department of Teacher Education at Texas Woman's University (TWU) in Denton, Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Special Education position beginning in Fall 2025. Opportunities for summer teaching are expected. The Position Candidates will be expected to: The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Professional Education The Special Education Program is housed in the Department of Teacher Education within the College of Professional Education. The college includes the School of Library and Information Studies; the Department of Human Development, Family Studies, and Counseling; the Department of Literacy and Learning; and the Department of Teacher Education. The Department of Teacher Education also offers the Master of Arts in Teaching; the M.Ed. in Teaching, Leadership, and Collaboration; the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership; the Ph.D. in Education, Leadership, and Organization; the Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching; and Post-master's Certificates of Advanced Study for Principal and Superintendent. Texas Woman's University occupies a notable position in higher education as the nation's largest university primarily for women. Established in 1901, TWU is a doctoral/professional public university which emphasizes the liberal arts and sciences as well as specialized and professional studies in business, nursing, health sciences, and education. About 10% of the university's nearly 16,000 students are men, who have been admitted to the University's graduate programs since 1972 and undergraduate programs since 1994.
