Job Summary

Plans and performs a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics maintenance functions to ensure all plant assets are properly maintained. Assist in prevention maintenance planning, development, and implementation.

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Repair and preventive maintenance of machines and equipment, electrical systems.
  • Self motivated, work unsupervised and assist co-workers
  • Work closely with more experienced maintenance personnel to gain valuable knowledge and experience
  • Participation in and contributing to team meeting and functions.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work in a team oriented setting
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Show competency in maintenance testing and on the job training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • 1 year maintenance experience
  • Associates degree or training certificate in maintenance/electrical related field
  • Skilled in 2 industrial maintenance disciplines
  • General understanding of OSHA, NEC, EPA & Fire Code Requirements
  • Vibration analysis
  • Knowledge of PM maintenance
  • Intermediate mathematics and formulas
  • Read blueprints
  • Data tables, charts and other reference material

HAZARDS:

Exposure to severe burn hazards (Molten aluminum @ 3000 F). Crushing hazards due to heavy and awkward machine parts. Falling hazards from working at 30 foot elevations. Explosion and fire hazard from gas fired burners and welding equipment. Potential for injury should it occur could result in total disability or death.
