Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Business Transformation Analyst to join our Digital Technology & Data Team. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.

The Business Transformation Analyst supports the firm's strategy to achieve operational excellence across the organization.

The Business Transformation team will drive process improvement across the firm including within marketing, new business intake, billing, finance, pricing, secretarial and talent teams. They will create process maps, identify best practices, and then monitor data and collaborate with teams to ensure new processes are maximized and continuously improved. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary team of lawyers and business processionals, driving efficiency, managing projects, and ensuring all departments work more effectively.

The Business Transformation team will collaborate with other areas of the firm, notably the Innovation team on legal service as needed.



Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include the following:

    Identify and eliminate unnecessary complexity within business processes and recommend better ways of working, using Lean tools and techniques. This includes post-implementation process reviews to ensure that successful delivery has been achieved;
  • Identify, manage, and raise any risks or issues to successful delivery of the projects in a timely manner and ensuring that documentation is kept up-to-date and stored in an agreed and accessible location;
  • Lead and facilitate workshops to establish current processes, identify and drive process improvement ideas and solutions;
  • Support and occasionally lead (where appropriate) training;
  • Assess and understand the impact of process and/or technology change and ensure that appropriate supporting materials are produced (to include training and communications, reporting and systems enhancements);
  • Analyze data, using basic Six Sigma tools, to make objective recommendations regarding process performance;
  • Effectively present performance recommendations to a breadth of stakeholders;
  • Support development of a 'best in industry' Business Transformation program.


Qualifications

  • Capability to learn new concepts quickly to apply a Business Transformation skill-set across a plethora of business problems;
  • Competence in identifying where improvement opportunities can be sourced;
  • Ability to decipher data to make informed recommendations to stakeholders;
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure with minimal supervision;
  • Experience in meetings or workshops facilitation;
  • Persuasive verbal and written influencing skills; this is coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable collaborative working across different teams across multiple locations;
  • An ability to build rapport and strong working relationships with business stakeholders at all levels;
  • Confident approach, the ability to challenge and influence the status quo when required, and effectively manage business expectations;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products: particularly PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of Visio and Minitab desired but not essential;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent experience;
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt;
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred;
  • Project / Change Management qualification, for example Agile DSDM, PRINCE2 or MSP preferred;
  • Minimum of one to two years' experience working in a professional service environment;
  • Experience in documentation, analysis, and improvement of processes;
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and take actions to address;
  • Understanding the application of Business Transformation in a service sector;
  • Experience of working within a framework of change management.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between:

  • California Major Markets* $48,000 - $67,000
  • New York City $51,000 - $67,000
  • National $46,000 - $60,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
