Posting Summary	The Academic Foundations Center, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for Spring 2025 to teach Service Learning I and II. Service-Learning Internship provides a structured learning experience that combines community work with learning objectives, preparation, and reflection. Students involved in service-learning are expected not only to provide direct service to the community, but also to learn about the context in which the service is provided, address challenges facing the community, the connection between the service and their academic coursework, and their roles as citizens. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; creating and posting a course syllabus; presenting material during the assigned course times; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students; responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner; and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Master's degree with two to three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of course content required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
