About the Role:

The Head of Tax will be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day activities of the corporate tax department. This includes the review of federal and state income tax returns, estimated tax payments, property tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and all related supporting workpapers and calculations, the quarterly and annual income tax provision, review of the company's tax calculations related to the company's land development activities, review of partnership tax returns and supporting workpapers. (Onsite Presence Required)

What You Will Do:

  • Review of federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns and supporting workpapers

  • Review of the annual tax provision and supporting workpapers

  • Review of complex excel based tax calculations for land models

  • Develop general understanding of company's accounting system

  • Organize and maintain appropriate supporting documentation for subsidiaries' income tax projection and other projects

  • Review necessary tax calculations for completed transactions

  • Identify and analyze tax planning opportunities and process improvements

  • Effectively communicate tax issues to others within the organization

  • Focus on running established efficient well documented processes and procedures

  • Ability to work in a fast- very paced environment

  • Tax Planning / Transaction Support / Business advisor

About You:

  • BBA in Accounting

  • Advanced degree in taxation is a plus

  • CPA

  • 10+ years corporate tax experience

  • Strong Knowledge of ASC 740 required

  • Knowledge of partnership and corporate taxation

  • Highly organized, flexible and detail-oriented individual who can perform and execute under pressure to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Real estate industry knowledge a plus

  • Strong organization and attention to detail skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Good problem solving/creative thinking.

  • "Can-do" attitude, pro-active and resourceful.

  • Multi-tasking and extensive organization and follow up.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

  • Must be able to work in a team oriented, fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
