Overview

We are looking for a motivated Production Engineer for our Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) Production Technology platforms to exhibit a wide variety of strengths and capabilities across multiple technologies and disciplines, as well as continually drive automation in all day-to-day production support activities. We look first and foremost for people who are passionate in solving problems through innovation and engineering practices. The role requires a high level of accountability to deliver technical solutions and continuous improvements in the overall support strategy. The role requires the management of all aspects of the Production systems, working closely with geographically diverse support and development teams to continue to build a market leading support organization for RFT production engineering team.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and resolve incidents, working with developers and team members to ensure quick resolution. Communicate effectively with affected users and management throughout the incident lifecycle. Participate in on-call support on a rotation basis, including weekends

  • Applying strong engineering skills in proactively monitoring application life cycle, resolving system incidents before users realizing the problems, solving functional queries with deep understanding of applications

  • Understanding the Agile culture and tools to facilitate timely reviews of changes, highlighting testing gaps prior to releases, minimize the production risks and improve the quality of change governance

  • Act as production gatekeeper, prepare risk assessment reports before each release, Capacity planning and ensuring that systems meet performance and availability thresholds

  • Lead by example to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through automation of manual work, monitoring improvements and platform hygiene

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelors' Degree with moderate experience in Information Technology (IT) in large corporate environments and experience in ITIL ( ITIL foundation certification preferred)

  • Deep understanding of application Support and/or Development, of complex IT infrastructure (Java, Structured Query Language (SQL), UNIX, Database, Middleware, Cloud, MQ etc.)

  • SRE mindset and have implemented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), DevOps, and Agile models

  • Working experience on Java J2EE, UNIX/Linux, python, Ansible, other tools for automation, strong knowledge of databases (Oracle ExaCC etc.) and experience in Cloud based technologies (Google Cloud preferred)

  • Experience in application performance monitoring tools such as Geneos, Splunk, Grafana & New Relic and Scheduling Tools such as Control-M/ Airflow

  • Adaptability and resilience to handle a fast-paced environment, manage on-call support, and tackle unexpected challenges

  • Customer service mindset, focusing on delivering high-quality support and building strong relationships with business stakeholders

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
