Pay Range USD $75,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr. Overview Working with the CoE Director, the Business Development Manager will provide support to the CoE Director, the CoE faculty and the program manager by carrying out the development and coordination of industrial interactions, supervise planning and marketing of CoE programs, take responsibility for stewarding company-CoE relationships, and assist with reporting activities to/from NY State. The New York State Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions (CoE) is co-lead by Clarkson University and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry (ESF) and delivers synergistic problem-solving on the wide range of water issues impacting New York State and beyond. Leveraging collaboration across academia, industry, non-for-profit organizations, government, and stakeholders, our mission is to generate solutions that help protect and improve waters for sustainable natural environments, healthy populations, resilient communities, and sound economies. As such the Business Development Manager will be interfacing with both CoE co-Directors and serving all CoE faculty (at Clarkson and ESF). NYS Centers of Excellence are funded by the New York State Department of Economic Development's Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR) to foster collaboration between the academic research community and the business sector to develop and commercialize new products and technologies, to promote critical private sector investment in emerging high-technology fields in New York State, and to create and expand technology-related businesses and employment. You must reside in one of the following states to work remotely: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Responsibilities Relationship and Research Collaboration: Initiation, Development and Cultivation
Identify and direct new partnerships, existing partnerships Knowledge acquisition and strengthening of internal relationships such as faculty and partnering departments
Qualifications Minimal Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in science or engineering, or the equivalent from a combination of education and experience. Preferred Education: Master's Degree in science or engineering. Minimal Experience: Technical knowledge of the water/wastewater treatment industry, water resources management as evidenced 5+years working in the water industry field in either academic or industrial settings. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of the water/wastewater treatment industry, water resources management as evidenced 10+years working in the water industry field and evidence of stewardship of industry-university relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and or knowledge of water issues and the water sector. Essential Skills
