Crude Oil Marketing Manager

Position Summary With the continuing growth of our company, this senior level position will be managing a group responsible for marketing and optimizing crude oil production, and a broad range of strategic marketing projects.This position will report to the Managing Director of Marketing andis a key contributor to the Chord Marketing group. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Manages crude oil sales group, including bulk sales, optimization, crude scheduling and crude analytics
  • Reviews opportunities for downstream transportation and negotiate such agreements where applicable; optimizes and administers existing Chord crude oil transportation
  • Manages existing and reviews potential crude oil storage
  • Evaluates Monthly Net Realized Price, Volume and Revenue Recognition Process in conjunction with Accounting and marketing groups
  • Contributesto the process to review, test, recommend and implement, if warranted, a Marketing System
  • Prepares and presents Marketing presentations and reports
  • Works with an integrated team to analyze/understand North American supply/demand balances and fundamentalmarket conditions for crude oil
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships within the company and industry
  • Travel to industry functions, seminars and shipper meetings
  • Williston Basin trips to gain knowledge of area and meet with Chord and counterparty personnel
  • Provides input into acquisition and divestiture decisions which may involve analyzing multiple scenarios of price, volume, financing and logistic alternatives

  • Bachelor degree
  • 15 years Oil & Gas marketing experience
  • Strong comprehension of crude oil and physical crude oil agreements
  • Strong analytical, spreadsheet and organizational skills
  • Attention to details and timely completion of required tasks
  • Willing to travel to field offices and locations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

  • Williston Basin crude oil sales and scheduling experience
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and provide new solutions to the Crude Oil overall Marketing process
  • Ability to seek out alternative methods, generate new ideas, recognize opportunities and technology to improve business functions
  • Ability to perform new project research and detailed economic analysis
