Full Time PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Certified Technicians (CPhT) shall hold a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
  • Non-certified technicians must have 6 months of experience (unless otherwise authorized by the respective CMOP) in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; or be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program. Not all pharmacy technicians will be required to be certified or registered (unless required by State Guidelines); however, certification is highly encouraged as several processes and certain equipment will require certified technicians.
  • Certified Technician (CPhT) with a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • The use of non-certified technicians to fill a Lead Pharmacy Technician position must be approved in writing by the CO.
  • Have demonstrated experience or knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations and receiving processes

DUTIES:

  • Prepares and dispenses medications, and maintains related records for patients.
  • Prepares, packages, labels, and distributes medication doses prescribed by physician.
  • Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals.
  • Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs/products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number.
  • Supervisory tasks include day to day administration of assigned operational area (production floor) and to coordinate activities with other productions areas.
  • Orient new contract technicians and assist with the evaluating performance
