What you'll do
As the Human Resources Manager for Utilimaster (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in Kansas City, MO, you will enjoy continuously seeking HR functional excellence and contributing to the company's overall HR strategy. This will involve maximizing organizational capabilities and fostering a high-performance and highly engaged culture.
While establishing your reputation as an innovative leader with a focus on people, you will maximize organizational capabilities, create a high-performing culture, and cultivate a motivated work environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, and business ownership.
You will also:
- Plan, direct, and achieve HR goals cost-effectively
- Manage, coach, and foster a motivated, accountable workforce
- Prepare all necessary reports and correspondence
- Develop, monitor, and manage the department budget
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Monitor team activities, and address problem areas
- Collaborate to enhance HR processes across functions
- Assist in workforce planning and staffing
- Proactively engage external agencies for future vacancies
- Manage talent acquisition for all positions
- Support HR-specific performance metrics
- Establish performance monitoring and assessment processes
- Develop and retain talent, drive succession planning
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Investigate and resolve associate-related issues
- Interpret and apply policies consistently
- Address the people implications of organizational change
- Communicate and resolve issues with cross-functional teams

Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business
- Five or more years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment
- Two years of people management expertise
- A thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations
- PHR, SPHR, or GPHR certifications (Preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- A reputation for having sound judgment and prioritizing tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, choices
- A history of inspiring others, handling multiple projects, and meeting deadlines
- Versatility, flexibility, and the willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Capable of coaching and counseling associates and managers regarding work-related disputes
- Versed in effectively resolving conflict
- Exceptional project management experience
