Job Summary:

The Physician Liaison is responsible for identifying, qualifying and creating new business relationships between the Physician Community and various customer segments within the defined primary and secondary market areas in conjunction with the Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg (MIF, LLC) management team. The Physician Liaison will meet routinely with physicians, nurses, practice administrators, office managers, and representatives of the radiology referral community. The primary purpose of the Physician Liaison is to: create relationships that generate profitable streams of revenue to MIF, LLC; foster communication and the relationships between the referring physician community and MIF, LLC; identify key areas of opportunities to improve the relationship between the outpatient imaging facilities and referring physician offices; provide training; and provide updates to the referring physician offices regarding new imaging technology and programs. This position will support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains existing physician referrals and relationships. Allocates necessary time to develop new referrals for MIF, LLC.
  • Generates referral reports to track and trend referral patterns by facility, modality, CPT code, Zip code, etc., and identifies key issues impacting positive or negative changes in the referral patterns.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of radiology outpatient imaging referral patterns and customer base.
  • Serves as an effective conduit of communication between MIF, LLC and the physician offices to improve customer satisfaction and increased referrals.
  • Meets with referring physician offices to assess their needs and develop appropriate plans of action.
  • Informs MIF, LLC management of problems and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and adjusts office visits to primary and secondary service areas as needed.
  • Provides and reports results of physician survey's on a quarterly basis.
  • Reports issues requiring resolution through established processes.
  • Works collaboratively with the outpatient imaging management team on the collection of information and identification of opportunities for improvement in outpatient imaging services.
  • Analyzes and tracks referral patterns in designated territories through monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Maintains budgetary responsibility for marketing activities and travel within defined territory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Minimum of three years experience working with physicians required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Independent problem solving and leadership abilities required.
  • Ability to set priorities and goals required.
  • Reliable mode of transportation required.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Proficient with PC systems including a high level understanding of Excel, Power Point and other database programs preferred.
