PSC Group is now hiring a full-time Railcar Cleaner who will work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks. Additionally, the role involves operating a boiler to wash or clean railcars, using a forklift for unloading, and ensuring proper documentation of various commodities. You'll also use the correct techniques and procedures to clean, inspect, and test railcars for repairs before releasing them back into service. Work Schedule: M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm, times could vary based on scheduled jobs. Must be able to work overtime if needed. Some evenings and weekends are required.

Pay Range: Starting pay of $25.00 an hour.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drain liquid heel, remove solid product heel using confine space tank entry inside railcar in order to clean using required PPE
  • Clean tanks, and refill boiler unit at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.
  • Add specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrations.
  • Measure and mix cleaning solutions and calibrate gas meter.
  • Operate and tend boiler unit to wash and remove impurities from inbound railcars to prepare them for repairs, lining touchup and released back into service.
  • Observe boiler cleaning operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Set controls to regulate temperature and length of cleaning cycles, and start pumps, generator, and boiler machine.
  • Examine, inspect and troubleshoot boiler unit for detect malfunctions.
  • Adjust, clean cleaning equipment, hoses, pumps using hand tools and cleaning solution.
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures and proper PPE requirement in the mobile cleaning operation procedures.
  • Follow prescribed safety procedures and comply with federal laws regulating waste disposal methods.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job


Job Qualifications:

  • Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and valid TWIC card
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
