SUMMARY

The Controlled Substance Diversion Officer (CSDO) works with internal and external customers on controlled substance and diversion prevention initiatives. The CSDO reports to the Director, Medication Safety and Compliance while working collaboratively with pharmacy, nursing, and anesthesia leadership and team members. He/she works collaboratively to ensure compliance and oversight of controlled substance management throughout the organization. The CSDO is also responsible for applicable education and audit readiness and preparation.

Job Responsibilities

* Other Duties As Assigned

* Educate all stakeholders related to controlled substance management.

* Develop and update policies and procedures to set standards of practice for controlled substance management in all practice settings.

* Complete gap analyses on current CS workflows and develop action plans to make Grady audit-ready.

* Develop ongoing audits and methods to track gaps on a continuing basis.

* Monitoring and Auditing Controlled Substance transactions.

* Being proficient in software and workflows related to controlled substances in applicable areas.

* Working with area leaders to identify opportunities and optimize CS workflows.

* Educate all stakeholders related to controlled substance management.

* Other Duties As Assigned

Requirements

* PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy

* Master's Degree in Medication Safety, Pharmacy Administration, or related experience.

* Four (4) or more years of job-related experience including health system-related experience Completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency or three years of relevant experience.
