Housekeeper Lead-BHP DSC

The Housekeeper Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Housekeepers working in Patient Care Services. Responsibilities include on the job training of new employees, making housekeeper assignments, assisting with scheduling, inspecting housekeepers work to ensure proper cleaning process is being used. In addition, cleans assigned areas and retrieves cribs/beds for patients.

Schedule: (Full time, Benefits Eligible) 1st shift, 8:00am-4:30pm, Rotating weekends and Holidays

Responsibilities

    Performs routine cleaning and building service work.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Basic Cleaning Steps.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate chemical use to meet department standards (know chemical, it's proper use, has appropriately labeled and stored, etc.)
  • Models proper methods of Infection Control in conjunction with cleaning procedures (changing of mop water, proper use of cleaning cloth and other equipment, etc.)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in job related skills.
  • Provides on the job training for new employees.
  • Makes assignments for evening and night housekeepers.
  • Retrieves appropriate beds/crib for new patients.
  • Performs quality control inspections.
  • Effectively relates and interacts with patients, families, staff and serves as a role model and mentor to other housekeepers.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Attends all required mandatory in-services.
  • Demonstrates commitment to providing a quality environment for patient care.
  • Demonstrates positive customer service skills.
  • Displays initiative in expanding job related skills.
  • Promotes team atmosphere.
  • Communicates issues/concerns to Supervisor and Assistant Director as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides input into staff performance evaluations
  • Acts as a leader.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:

  • High School education or equivalent.

Required Experience:

  • Must have 1 year supervisor or Lead experience
  • Must have housekeeping experience and or LEAD expoerience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrate high degree of proficiency in the seven step process.
  • Possess strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate good effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and use good organizational skills.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Weight requirement - Must be able to lift 40 lbs independently.
  • Must be able to see, stand on their feet for 8 hours, hear, walk, talk, and care of oneself with little or no difficulty.
