Senior Research Chemist - Process Development

The SSG Process Development team is looking to add a senior level research chemist to the dynamic group. The research chemist's principal responsibility is developing robust synthesis and purification methods for novel OLED emitters.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable processes for OLED emitters that are reproducible and cost effective through a thorough scientific approach.

• Independently design and conduct chemistry experiments using modern synthetic strategies

• Evaluate the synthesis for new emitters as they are identified. Provide samples using a commercially feasible synthetic strategy

• Advance technology used in the laboratory to improve process development understanding and reduce cycle times

• Analyze and interpret analytical results and make process changes as necessary

• Provide support for scale up of new products by technicians in both a kilo lab and plant setting

• Makes conceptual contributions to development activities and scientific strategies; introduces some new methodologies and solutions to overcome synthetic and manufacturing obstacles

• Contributes to reports and regular updates at appropriate project intervals while maintaining detailed laboratory records

• Works in a safe manner. Reads, understands and follows all pertinent SOPs

Experience/Education

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Chemistry or closely related field

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in process development of small molecules

• Strong background in organic synthesis and process development is a plus
