Zayo is seeking a Service Delivery Design and Engineering Tech Ito join our skilled team of network professionals who are responsible for the configuration, installation, testing, and activation of telecommunications equipment and customer services. The Service Delivery Design and Engineering Tech I will have a basic understanding of Ethernet, WAN, DIA and Cloudlink solutions. They will work with minimal supervision under the direction of the Install Managers and Leads.

The Service Delivery Design and Engineering Tech I is required to effectively communicate with internal Service Delivery personnel and Zayo's customers on the progress of the order fulfillment and turn-up assistance. They will ensure that all work adheres to Zayo's strict quality standards for ongoing customer support.

*This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision, test, and turn-up Ethernet, WAN, DIA and Cloudlink solutions across multiple hardware platforms.

  • Deployment of new equipment as well as new customer services across the network.

  • Test services using RFC2544 and document results in Zayo systems.

  • Maintain processes and procedures documentation relating to the provisioning, test, and activation of Zayo Ethernet services.

  • Ensure the proper documentation and network reliability standards are followed for the ongoing support of these services going forward.

  • Document work efforts in Zayo systems to track circuits through the install process.

  • Ensure Zayo is creating the finest network available for the support of our customers and long term company financial success.

  • Interact with customers to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Work nights and/or weekends as necessary and participate in an on-call rotation.

  • Work well as a part of a team as well as being able to perform as an individual with minimal supervision.

  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training specific to IP and Ethernet networking; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Subject matter expert on Layer 1 and 2 of the OSI Model.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as the trouble ticketing and circuit inventory software.

  • Knowledge of the following Transmission and TCP/IP standard telecommunication practices and technologies: Ethernet and IP Networking, BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS/VPLS, Spanning Tree Protocols, G.8032, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel Lucent Operating Systems.

  • Requires the ability to meet inflexible deadlines; perform non-predictive multiple tasks; and handle customer conflict to a successful resolution.

Base Pay Range: $21.00 - $26.00 USD/hour, commensurate with experience.
