Summary

A single punch operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and operating equipment that punches metal to make window frames.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Operates equipment in accordance with the Company's safety guidelines
  2. Loads and unloads metal into either a manual or automated punch machine
  3. Operates equipment and may be responsible for basic machine set up
  4. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the shift leader or production manager
  5. Maintains the work equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee may be required to stand and/or walk for an average of eight (8) hours per day, and may be required to bend, stoop, or lean while performing normal job duties. The employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be highly conscious of safety.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This shift is scheduled to work Friday - Sunday from 6:00am - 6:30pm.

Pay

The starting rate for this role is $17.50/hr with a $2.50 shift premium.

Travel

No travel is required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

No experience or education required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
  2. Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, but not required
  3. Previous experience with machinery, basic machine set up, and small power tools preferred, but not required
  4. Must be able to read a tape measure

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

This position requires the employee to follow mandatory PPE guidelines. The employee is required to wear Z.87 rated safety glasses at all times. The employee may be asked to wear additional PPE dependent upon the position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
