The Position

Our Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT) team is responsible for delivering a fast-evolving portfolio of new Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) products to bring new curative treatments to patients.

This position is part of our Materials Management organization and will be responsible for managing the supply of indirect and direct manufacturing raw materials in addition to local supplier contracts and small equipment purchasing.

The Opportunity:

As a Procurement and Planning Specialist, you will engage with local operations, Genentech/Roche global functions, extended leadership teams, and colleagues across various sites and business areas regionally and globally. In this highly visible role, you will leverage procurement as a business enabler to drive the mission and vision of our organization, ensuring uninterrupted supply through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and adherence to procurement policies and guidelines. You will be a vital member of a cross-functional team dedicated to production start-up activities, playing a crucial role in the design, installation, testing, and validation of manufacturing equipment, processes, and quality approaches for this innovative technology.

  • Develop and manage regional/global procurement strategies and contracts to ensure uninterrupted supply

  • Ensure project compliance with Pharma Procurement Policy Directive, Guidelines, and functional SOPs

  • Plan materials to support manufacturing operations and manage supplier relations, including contract and price negotiations

  • Handle procurement duties such as vendor sourcing, RFQ preparation, contract negotiation, proposal evaluations, and purchasing of cGMP and non-GMP materials, equipment, and services

  • Create material forecasts and establish internal inventory levels based on product Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Identify purchasing trends and supply chain risks, developing strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure business continuity

  • Complete quality record documentation for incident reporting and CAPA processes

  • Research and approve secondary/alternate suppliers to support cGMP manufacturing

Who You Are:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalency as demonstrated by at least 10 years of related experience)

  • At least 6 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management in healthcare or related industry

  • Technical proficiency with appropriate ERP procurement systems and tools

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work effectively in a matrixed environment

  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract management and supplier relationship management

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in strategic sourcing and risk mitigation within the supply chain

Preferred:

  • Biotech, pharmaceutical, personalized healthcare experience, or cell therapy

  • APICS certification or other supply chain equivalent is desirable. Experience in LEAN Manufacturing experience a plus

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $76,200 - 141,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
