TITLE

Executive Director of the Center for Faculty Success

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director of the Center for Faculty Success (CFS) provides visionary leadership for faculty development and excellence at Texas Woman's University. This individual collaborates with faculty and institutional leaders to assess needs, develop programming, and implement strategies that enhance faculty knowledge and skills in teaching, scholarship, service, and leadership. The Executive Director aligns CFS initiatives with TWU's mission and strategic plan, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs

Supervises: Assigned staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:



  1. Develop and implement a strategic vision for the CFS that aligns with TWU's mission and strategic plan.
  2. Assess faculty professional development needs and design responsive programs.
  3. Lead initiatives in innovative pedagogies, including online and hybrid learning strategies.
  4. Collect, analyze, and leverage data to assess CFS program effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
  5. Facilitate faculty orientation, mentoring programs, and success initiatives across disciplines.
  6. Establish collaborative relationships across the university to support high-impact practices and emerging learning technologies.
  7. Foster partnerships with academic departments to integrate faculty development into the broader academic mission.
  8. Identify and pursue external funding opportunities, including grants, to support CFS initiatives.
  9. Contribute to institutional assessment and accreditation efforts related to faculty development.
  10. Promote faculty excellence through strategic marketing and communication.
  11. Lead change and foster innovation in academic environments.
  12. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations in teaching and learning initiatives.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES



  1. Serve on appropriate University committees and represent TWU at external meetings and conferences.
  2. Collaborate with the Pioneer Center for Student Excellence to coordinate programs.
  3. Work with Marketing and Communications to develop promotion strategies for faculty development initiatives.
  4. Assist in preparing materials for reports and grant programs.
  5. Establish job standards for CFS staff and manage their performance effectively.
  6. Performs other duties as requested.


EDUCATION

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE



  1. Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in faculty development, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  2. Proven track record of scholarly contributions to the field of teaching and learning, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national conferences.
  3. Strong familiarity with current trends and research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
  4. Recognition for excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, or leadership.


REQUIREMENTS

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

  1. Knowledge of research, best practices, and emerging trends in teaching and learning, scholarship, service, and leadership.
  2. Skill in University-level faculty support and retention programs.
  3. Ability to provide administrative guidance and apply budgetary and fiscal planning techniques.
  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex operations and multiple priorities.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups in a collaborative environment.
  7. Skill in integrating cutting-edge educational technologies into faculty development programs.
  8. Ability to commit to active participation in professional organizations related to faculty development and SoTL.
  9. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.
