About the role:

Responsible for defining and modeling the organization's business capabilities, processes, and assists in enterprise-wide strategic planning process. Works with business stakeholders to identify business opportunities, define high level business needs, and assist in developing business cases. Also ensures that business capabilities and processes are optimized and aligned with the broader organization's goals and objectives. This role will be a key partner during the product commercialization process aligning business outcomes with solution components required to efficiently achieve those outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Facilitate the rigorous identification and documentation of business architecture by participating in a variety of activities to meet the organization's needs, including:

    • Gathering information
    • Analyzing business needs
    • Coordinating and executing the transition and ongoing management of business architecture


  • Take ownership/stewardship of department business architecture vision and direction, providing communication and education
  • Develop and communicate business needs within department and within systems
  • Facilitate business analysis discussions using business architecture methodology and techniques
  • Apply knowledge of other business departments and systems department structures and processes as necessary
  • Research industry trends in architecture disciplines and uses them to develop IT architecture strategies in support BSC's enterprise-wide IT strategies.
  • Anticipate future architectural risks based on industry trends and business needs at the enterprise level
  • Utilize architecture expertise and experience to resolve key business and business process issues.
  • Work under general direction and establish business relationships
  • Partner with stakeholders to document and communicate values generated from the new capabilities and processes
  • Actively participate in technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes
  • Ensure architectural adherence for the services developed by Enterprise Architecture.



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
  • 7+ years in business and/or system analysis, design and development
  • 3+ years experience in Architecture
  • Demonstrated executive presence, comfortable collaborating with senior leaders
  • Experience working in product commercialization environment including commercial functions such as marketing, sales, and R&D.
  • Demonstrated ability to create implementation roadmaps that provide realistic progress to achieving a future state.
  • Able to articulate in IT and non-IT terms the architecture principles in more than one architecture domain.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including proficiency in tailoring communications depending on stakeholder.
  • Ability to create architectures for complex solutions leveraging approved strategic and standard technologies.
  • Apply architecture principles to a given context.



Preferred qualifications:



  • Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry
  • Familiarity with and usage of the BIZBOK Guide in practice
  • Understand Strategic Planning process and how IT Strategy supports business needs and direction
  • Certification
  • Strong Program/project management skills and the ability to set clear goals to get desired result
