Program Overview

McKesson's Intern program is 10 weeks long, based in Richmond, Virginia, and is designed to provide:

  • A real-life working environment

  • A solid foundation of experience as a McKesson employee and hopeful offer of full time employment

  • A cohort experience with other interns

  • Weekly senior leadership exposure and learning experiences

We are looking for candidates who exhibit the following behaviors:

While specific requirements for each role may vary, here are our general requirements:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student at the time of the internship, at the Undergraduate or Graduate level

  • Must have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours by the start of the internship

  • 18 Years of age

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Major in a technical, business, technology, or analytics discipline

  • Superior collaboration and communication skills

  • Strong communication, writingand team collaboration skills

  • Ability to manage priorities effectively

  • Ability to analyze and aggregate data

There are a number of opportunities available in the following areas:

Inside Sales

The Inside Sales Intern(s) will be responsible for engaging and prospecting decision-makers to reestablish dormant relationships while driving key sales initiatives. This is a great opportunity for rising seniors to learn about the healthcare industry, learn about products, and engage with customers.

  • Conduct research on prospective clients

  • Executing customer contact campaigns focused on targeted initiatives and/or reactivating dormant accounts

  • Partnering with inside sales reps and manager on special projects

  • Working in Salesforce.com and executing marketing and sales campaigns

  • Learn the basic competencies of a medical sales representative and aid in the sales process

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist in budget preparations, forecasting processes and preparing monthly financial reports

  • Support the development and implementation of new tools and processes that increase use of financial analytics

  • Provide proactive support and business analytics considering the business and data availability

  • Help develop impact analysis for risks and opportunities related to profitability

Product Management

  • Responsible for the development and execution of reimbursement tools and communication to support customer decision making for various products

  • Serve as the SME for internal partners

  • Analyze data and maintain recent knowledge of market trends and dynamics

  • Develop communication plans of updated information to support Sales in discussing with customers

  • Collaborate within other business units to improve knowledge-sharing

  • Build and leverage relationships with external suppliers

Inventory Analytics

  • Partner with Sales teams and Inventory Planning teams in root cause analysis and resolution.

  • Analyze demand trends through strategic inventory placement and forecast modifications.

  • Identify and manage potential at-risk inventory investments resulting from usage adjustments.

  • Execute on-demand purchasing for unscheduled critical inventory replenishment.

  • Facilitate new business on-boarding

  • Provide readiness reporting and demand comparison reporting.

  • Act as a key contact and inventory expert in cross-functional discussions.

  • Communicate critical supply chain issues to key stakeholders

Strategy & Planning

  • Support Strategy and Planning teams in delivery of key initiatives related to our growth strategy

  • Learn the key components of delivery for supporting various business units

  • Acting with direction, develop insights and reports related to the progress of major programs and management of day to day plans

  • Interact with other teams to gather and collate information related to the status of our Daily Operations programs such as Distribution, Analytics, Strategy, Technology and Category Management

Business Intelligence

  • Provide support to Sr. Analysts medical surgical market analytics.

  • Provide analytical support across various segment marketing department.

  • Be an excellent critical thinker and demonstrate problem solving skills.

  • Have strong understanding of data manipulation, data relationships, spreadsheets, queries, and business intelligence tools such as (Google Analytics, SQL, Oracle BI).

Operations/Supply Chain

  • Responsible for supporting the development/implementation of supply chain projects and programs involving cross functional teams providing a single point of contact for the projects

  • Support in identifying, developing and implementing projects that mitigate unnecessary expense found in the supply chain

  • Be actively engaged in the implementation & testing of various integrated systems in the new generation DC (Distribution Center) prior to go-live

  • Complete, assigned projects and tasks, support calls, troubleshooting problems, end user engagement, vendor engagement, virtual and face-to-face meetings, status updates and individual development.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$20/hr

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets.
