Description
This role can be a Sr Specialist, Product Manager or Sr Product Manager level. Leveling will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
We are hiring a Product Manager for our Interior Architecture segment on the Portfolio Management Team. You will manage a strategic, well-rounded portfolio of products and will use your deep product knowledge and strong relationships to manage this portfolio across brands to maintain relevance, competitiveness, and financial performance of products.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Craft product line or portfolio strategies and execution, considering a holistic view of the portfolio across our company and minimizing unnecessary complexity
  • Take ownership of and manage assigned product lines for market relevance and financial performance (Revenue through Gross Margin)
  • Create vision for the future of the product lines managed including lifecycle and product development strategy, goals, initiatives, and tactics
  • Make data-driven decisions regarding product pricing, sales forecasts, product positioning, product development scope and culling
  • Develop in-depth and comprehensive market segment knowledge to support portfolio strategy, sales opportunities, and training initiatives
  • Consult and advise with sales and dealer to refine applications and product offering including providing value engineering and up-sell guidance
  • Lead in-person and virtual trainings for Steelcase sales, dealer sales and dealer designers. Also, create and maintain on-demand product training for a number of audiences
  • Present to customers regarding product story, differentiators, and relevant technical details
  • Envision and generate sales tools including sales presentations, portfolio positioning guides, competitive comparison, website content, and product brochures and cut sheets
  • Technical product expert to address daily product capability questions
  • Collaboratively work with fellow portfolio managers and customer vertical leaders to ensure cohesive product strategy and initiatives

  • You work to create clarity and controlled conversations. Your experience includes developing creative and/or marketing briefs, compelling opportunity statements, key performance indicators + return on investment, category/corporate prioritization, and cross-functional resource planning.
  • You work collaboratively across our team and the company to leverage diversity of thought and experiences, and are comfortable engaging and influencing people at all levels of the organization.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • At least 3 years of marketing or product management experience
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is desired
  • Experience working within the contract furniture industry, related architectural/construction field or with distribution partners is highly preferred
