The Waste Coordinator at SET Environmental is responsible to:




  • Coordinate with onsite contract Waste Technicians to ensure day-to-day tasks are completed





  • Ensure that wastes are properly characterized and labeled





  • Prepare shipping documents based on profiles that are/will be established and work with TSDF for manifest creation when applicable





  • Manifest review and quality control to ensure compliance with DOT, RCRA, and EPA regulations prior to loads leaving site





  • Review of hazardous waste manifests and other shipping documents with confirmation that waste items are shipped to the appropriate offsite disposal facilities





  • Ensure the loads are acceptable per DOT regulations and requirements





  • Complete required checklist for shipments and retain for site access/reference





  • Reporting/Tracking. Tracking wastes once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received. (Shipment Tracker, Container Inventory, Waste Summary, etc.) (additional reports as requested from customer)





  • Managing waste sampling activities and lab communication regarding sample pick up and tracking of results as needed





  • Receiving and deciphering analytical results and waste characterization





  • Initiate needed waste profiles and obtain approvals into various pre-determined facilities. Recertify profiles as needed. Evaluate upcoming waste streams to determine the need for sampling/profiling





  • Create waste determination files for company - profile copies, analytical, process of generation information in one place for easy access/reference





  • Evaluate profiles continuously and document cost savings initiatives as it pertains to waste/disposal





  • Complete all site inspections related to waste storage and compliance as requested. Regulatory or Site Mandated (SAA, 90-day, Tank/Sump Inspections, etc.)





  • Complete Maximo entries for work orders related to waste. Dedicate hours/labor to each applicable WO worked on





  • Develop and document waste management procedures for the site utilizing lessons learned from SET on site waste management programs





  • Work alongside environmental and maintenance team for other miscellaneous projects as necessary





  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned





POSITION REQUIREMENTS




  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental studies or related field (preferred)





  • Must have 2+ years of practical field experience including hazardous waste handling, lab packing, chemical consolidation, manifesting





  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office





  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills





  • Proven self-starter and highly motivated





  • Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40-hour HAZWOPER training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use)





  • Must have knowledge of RCRA Waste Management, TCEQ, and DOT regulations





  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER





  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
