Practice Management Administrator

The Practice Management Administrator is an executive level role responsible for developing an independent practice model within the organization. Over the next 3 to 5 years, this individual will build an independent practice capable of being self-sustaining in its revenue generation through independent service offerings across the communities services by the organization. This role is responsible for both building a new department and effectively managing physician relations to maximize their performance and productivity to meet organizational goals and objectives. This role will work closely with the CMO in order to ensure internal service needs continue to be met.

Practice Management of Contracted Providers

  • Driving department and provider productivity and performance by ensuring all providers are working to capacity to meet individual targets and performance goals.
  • Build an independent physician practice with specific services and a quality reputation to establish key partnerships across the community and expand service offerings over the next 5 years. Evaluate the potential for the physician practice to become self-sustaining through independent revenue generation and provision of internal and external services in the future and build a sustainable model to support this.
  • Develop national relationships with recruiters and academic institutions to facilitate recruitment of the best and brightest.
  • Oversee the entire provider recruitment process, including job postings and internal hiring procedures. Drive provider recruitment and retention.
  • Manage provider contracts, track renewals, key notice dates, and contract deliverables, including NP/PA collaboration agreements.
  • Conduct annual reviews, implement corrective actions, and manage provider performance.
  • Oversee the academic support relationships from a medical student, to Graduate Medical Education (GME) perspective for residents and fellows.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with vendors for both locum tenens and permanent staff recruitment.
  • Develop a support system to ensure proper scheduling occurs to maximize provider efficiency and ability to meet productivity standards.
  • Develop systems to manage the use of moonlighters and community providers when needed in filling identified gaps in coverage in all levels of care.
  • Monitor and oversee provider productivity as it relates to performance.
  • Oversee the process of onboarding and offboarding processes for contracted providers.
  • Develops, implements, interprets and monitors adherence to organization policies, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Partners with Chief Medical Officer to manage the practice enterprise.
  • Responsible for budget, financial reports and expenditures of the practice
  • Oversees human resources actions related to provider performance, hiring, termination, salary, and disciplinary actions and decisions.
  • Leads changes necessary to meet financial goals.
  • Reinforces Rogers' Code of Conduct, values and missions, employee engagement, performance, and productivity to enhance practice effectiveness.
  • Other continuous improvement projects as assigned.

  • Comply with the Hospital's policies and procedures, including Human Resources, Infection Control and Employee Health policies and programs.
  • Project a professional image by wearing appropriate, professional attire.

  • Verbal and hearing ability required to interact with patients and employees and to take minutes and/or dictation.
  • Numerical ability is required to maintain records and operate a computer. Ability to plan, control and direct all aspects of employee relations. Tact is required to deal effectively with employees and professional staff. Logical thinking and discretion are required to make decisions in initiating and implementing policies and procedures and standards.
  • Ability to read and communicate through written, verbal and auditory skills. Physical/mental ability to perform job duties as verified by a physical examination by a licensed physician, prepost-employment physical.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or health care related field
  • Master's degree in a related field required, or commensurate experience in similar role
  • 10+ years experience working in a hospital or health care setting, and working at an Executive Level.
  • 5 + years experience working with providers, contracts and compensation.
  • 5 years experience managing provider performance issues.
  • Experience working with academic medical centers, residents and fellows a plus.
