Job Summary:
The Assistant Director is responsible for the administrative, clinical, and overall operations of the program. Duties involved include ensuring compliance in the implementation of services, managing data collection and documentation, overseeing case management through supervising program staff , and ensuring that the agency and program mission is carried out within daily activities and support plans. Also maintaining records to demonstrate compliance with funding source requirements, and promoting relations with the community as well as referring programs and programs serving mutual clients. The Assistant Director encourages the program to provide services that helps its members maximize skills and realize potential.
This is an exempt position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervision of assigned direct care staff to ensure daily operations of program activities and compliance to program schedules and program mission.
Essential Functions of Position:
- In the absence of the Director, oversees all program coordination and management.
- In the absence of the Director, provides supervision and training for all program staff.
- Provides staff supervision and training for the Education/Employment Counselors and relief staff.
- Supervises and supports assigned program staff through supervision, staff meetings, direct observation and periodic written evaluations.
- Evaluates work performance of supervisees as specified by agency personnel policies.
- Identifies needs for and ensures the provision of staff training.
- Create daily staffing schedules.
- Ensures provision of adequate staff coverage during operating hours of the program.
- Provides daily shift coverage in programs as needed.
- Protects the rights and dignity of the individuals we support.
- Safeguards the confidentiality of those supported by the programs.
- Leads the team in upholding and enhancing the human rights, dignity and full community integration of all program participants.
- Leads the team in effective crisis prevention and intervention.
- Assesses individuals training needs, develops descriptive teaching programs and monitors effectiveness through data collection.
- Coordinates Individual Support Plan development and implementation.
- Develops and implements clinical and behavioral treatment plans.
- Provides crisis assessment, prevention and needed intervention.
- Provides advocacy and case management services for the individuals of the program, which includes contact with families, residential providers and other service providers.
- Provides progress notes, ISP assessments and support strategies and DDS reports in a thorough and timely manner.
- Supervises Education/Employment Counselors in job coaching and trouble shooting at job sites.
- Administers medications as needed
- Other duties and projects as assigned.

Demonstrated supervisory and management experience.

Professional documentation and communication skills, as well as demonstrated organizational skills.

Ability to articulate and communicate Bay Cove missions and strategic direction in a consistent and enthusiastic manner to departmental staff.

Personal Characteristics:
Other Qualifications:
Current United States driver's license.
An acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment).
BA/BS in Psychology or related field. One year previous work experience supervising staff in a human service setting.
