Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Project Manager, the QC Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Quality Control Plan and managing the integrity of Goodwill's organization-wide quality program, assisting with the establishment of policies, procedures, practices, forms and measurements. The QC assures that appropriate reports are provided to leadership and that appropriate communication occurs internally and with customers.

Essential Functions

* Thoroughly inspects areas for quality within assigned buildings.

* Provides all custodial tasks assigned by Director of Contracts or Project Manager.

* Assists supervisor w/directing associates in daily task.

* Submits inspections to supervisor or Project Manager.

* Can support requests from day supervisor for immediate clean up if there are no other staff available.

* Reports any broken or damaged equipment to the Director and Project Manager within 24 hours.

* Retrains associates in custodial tasks, if needed.

* Keeps a daily checklist of all inspected areas.

* Assists Supervisor/Project Manager with resolving customer concerns or complaints.

* Researches to determine root causes of a deficiency or a potential deficiency; proactive in preventing further deficiencies.

* Displays leadership skills by finding better ways to improve the quality of the custodial associates.

* Must have the ability to step in to assume the role and responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor.

* Must have the ability to learn and abide with the SOW and AbilityOne handbook.

* Must uphold all company information with a high degree of confidentiality.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demand and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a physical role. The employee must have the ability to communicate and apply active listening skills, lift up to 50 pounds, bend and stand as necessary and become certified to operate a baler, stand-alone tipping machine, and forklift. Vision abilities required by this job include: close distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Standing and walking for long periods of time. Perform work outside and inside; exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, electricity, loud noises, fumes and chemicals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time position requiring a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

The Quality Control Associate will be a proven leader with the following:

* High School diploma or GED.

* Supervisor and/or inspecting experience is preferred.

* 2 yrs. experience in custodial duties.

* 1 yr. experience in floor care.

* Must be able to read and write.

* Must have basic knowledge of maintenance and custodial work.

* Must be able to perform all custodial tasks daily.

* Must be proficient PC skills with Word and Excel.

* Must be knowledgeable and willing to abide by the Quality Control program for the contract.

* Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse workforce.

* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.

* Must have the ability to follow instructions, including safety procedures and correct any safety issues, if possible.

* Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

* Must be able to attend all mandatory training sessions as assigned.

* Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

* Must be able to obtain a Federal Security clearance.
