About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team on a full-time basis at our youth residential program located in Plainville, CT. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our clients in a safe and timely manner. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards and meet the dietary requirements of our clients. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success in this role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organization in the Social Service industry.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3pm

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements
  • Meal prep for weekend shifts in advance
  • Ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards
  • Engage residents in selecting nutritious recipes
  • Role model relational, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent behaviors, attitudes, and actions

What We're Looking For:

  • Associates Degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
  • ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain by taking courses offered
  • Proven experience as a Cook
  • Experience working in a healthcare or social assistance setting
  • Ability to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
  • Experience with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holiday
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
