Responsibilities Complete all functions necessary in performing quality echocardiograms, stress echoes and vascular studies. Responsible for reporting interpretations to physicians when completed. Works with general supervision, structuring own work patterns within a general outline, referring unusual situations or problems to physician / supervisor. Travel to rural locations may be required. Essential Functions: Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies and stress echoes as directed by physicians Assist in pulling patients back, preparing patient for ultrasounds and vascular studies Schedule PM's on ultrasound equipment when needed Assist in calling service on equipment as needed Responsible for completing all paperwork such as daily exam reports and logs Prepares room and equipment in advance and ensures that assigned area is kept clean, orderly, and stocked Ability to carry and transport portable ultrasound equipment (as needed) Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint area of imaging Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits Qualifications Education: Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound Licensure/Certification: Current ARDMS or CCI or registry eligible and pass registry within one year of date of hire; and BLS certification Experience: Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging. One (1) year of experience preferred. Working Knowledge: Can manipulate the ultrasound equipment to adequately perform general, vascular, and echocardiogram exams. Can detect abnormal pathology and image the pathology. After finishing an ultrasound study, capable of sending high quality exams to the PACS System and then completing studies in the Cerner Computer System.
