As aS&T Color Technologist, you will identify pigmentation of automotive grade color standards and match those standards within the range of Refinish paint systems. Efficiently manage laboratory workload while maximizing resources to support the Refinish Color team at our Delaware, OH facility.

Second shift typically will work from 2:00pm - 10:30pm.

You will work onsite at our Delaware, OH facility and report to the Global Color Science and Operations Director.

Responsibilities:

• Through application of color theory, electronic tools (spectrophotometers, electronic microscopes, color software) incumbent will identify color problems in terms of pigmentation and effect pigment to match a color in Refinish paint technologies.
• Manages multiple paint lines and workflow to ensure efficient throughput in the lab. Must react to shifting priorities and complexities in a high volume lab environment.
• Utilizes processes such as Kanban to maintain high level of lab productivity and achieve color goals.
• Aligns various Refinish paint systems in color space relative to the OE standard and other PPG/Nexa paint lines.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in clean condition.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience color matching in paint technologies (Refinish a plus) preferred.
• Ability to see color properties and develop efficient/logical methodology to adjust formulations to achieve color match required. (Assessment will be conducted on-site at time of interview)
