Job Description

The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $116,400 - $157,100 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. The Enterprise Architect (EA) plays an integral role in building a wholistic view and roadmap of Red Wing Shoes technology strategy, processes, and information technology roadmap. Partnering with both business and technology groups, the enterprise architect sets the direction and establishes the approach to ensure that proposed technical solutions not only align with overall company objectives, but also that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the needs of Red Wing Shoes Inc mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and analyze trends in technology and rationalize them against Red Wing Shoe's technology footprint
  • Analyze and provide decision resolution on technology alternatives
  • Represent Red Wing Shoe Company in internal and external business and technology forums
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company
  • Integral role in creating and maintaining application and infrastructure life cycle management road maps
  • Operate across the organization to drive common approaches and standards
  • Create and maintain enterprise architecture documentation
  • Lead the design and modeling of transitional architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Work with Application Development, Infrastructure and Support to create consensus based scalable and adaptable architectural solutions
  • Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flow
  • Evaluate applications for compliance with both enterprise and business standards
  • Determine the viability of architecture related to organizational changes
  • Evaluate internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes, leading to a trusted technology recommendation
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 10+ Years in Information Technology required. Preferred candidates will have:
    • 5+ years in Software Development
    • 3+ years in Solution Architecture
    • 3+ years in Enterprise Architecture
  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent, preferred. Relevant certifications a plus.
  • Experience building enterprise architecture roadmaps
  • Experience developing API frameworks / Service based architecture
  • Experience in modeling and graphic representations
  • Experience in converged infrastructure and cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, IBM)
  • Experience in hybrid cloud and cloud migration
  • Knowledgeable about DevOps practices, orchestration, and CICD
  • Broad experience across multiple technologies from Microsoft .NET, Java and Java-script to SQL and Mobile development
  • Preferred knowledge of CRM, OMS, ERP, EDI
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering

Additional skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to "think big" and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
  • Ability to build consensus among many stakeholders, being a champion for change and transformation
  • Ability to understand business models with strong business acumen
  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain best practices and innovation/Deep understanding of Retail/Omnichannel best practices and innovation
  • Strong leadership and experience influencing in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements
  • Ability to create business architecture models that reflect the organization's strategies and goals
  • Understanding of Security Architecture and Technology
