Job Description:

The Behavior Analyst Supervisor will be a part of Primary Children's inaugural Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Clinic at Riverton Campus. This will be a children's hospital-based service including opportunities for research and training. This role represents an exciting opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity for a new and growing service.

Job Essentials

  • Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of registered behavior technicians (RBT).
  • Applied Behavior Analysis: Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis skills assessment and intervention techniques Use a variety of evidence-based skill acquisition techniques to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Keep current with the literature, new research findings, crisis management prevention and intervention techniques through continuing education and professional association meetings. Responsible for graphing, analyzing data and making database decisions on client progress.
  • Instruction and Training: Provide model teaching and other direct instructional supports including, but not limited to,practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction and in-service instruction to other support professionals. Provide ongoing support and training to RBTs and other individuals in support roles for families.
  • Direct Clinical Care Services: Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing challenging behavior. Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families. Sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training for all field staff and provide field supervision when necessary. Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between personal care staff and families in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master-level degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Certification
  • Licensure in the state of Utah or able to obtain prior to hire
  • 1 year experience implementing ABA-based skills assessment and intervention procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate essential BCBA job duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with data-based staff improvement projects
  • Experience with billing accepted payor codes in Utah, interacting with payors for authorization and credentialing clinic needs.
  • Previous experience working with children with autism and related disabilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, labels, monitors, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
