Job Description:

This position will have oversight over the new Primary Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Crisis Access Center in Taylorsville and a new pediatric telecrisis team. The position will involve the development and implementation of all the elements of these two new programs, including but not limited to: hiring and onboarding the team, creating workflows, developing the clinical approach and model, scheduling, performance goals, and data collection. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team and help to build a one-of-a-kind program in the state of Utah!

  • Shift: 40 hours a week 5 days a week.
  • Selected candidate will need to allow 12 weeks for the credentialing process.

Job Essentials

  • Manages clinical functions of behavioral health crisis services in the emergency department, access center, inpatient therapy services, and through telehealth.
  • Responsible for department operations including the KPI's, staffing models, budgeting, purchasing, recruitment and retention, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the effectiveness of department services to improve patient access, patient experience, safety, quality, and stewardship.
  • Effectively communicates with caregivers and other stakeholders to ensure effective operations and promote positive employee relations.
  • Uses regulatory, professional, and organizational standards to promote quality of care.
  • Responds to patient and family concerns in a supportive and sensitive manner. Takes immediate action to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as a resource and provides education on clinical issues using knowledge of age-specific learning principles and appropriate teaching skills to promote high quality care.
  • Hires, orients, and maintains a competent clinical staff. Complies with regulatory agencies and corporate policies for employment practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a mental health field from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Utah State license as Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Three years of experience working in a mental health environment.
  • One-year of experience in psychiatry crisis assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for extended periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
