Position Summary |
Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to hire a full time administrative support specialist to support the Director of Perinatal Psychiatry and Associate Director in the Center for Women's Mood Disorders and the Founding Director and Clinical Director in the Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders, working with them to develop and implement new research, clinical, training, and administrative initiatives, as well as monitor on-going programs. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The position's responsibilities demand strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills; program planning and administration; as well as the ability to learn new web-based applications and utilities as necessary. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to practice effective communication skills, both oral and written; ability to plan and work efficiently; problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task; and experience handling confidential and/or sensitive information and managing calendars. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience providing administrative support in a clinical environment. Ability to multitask and possess a high level of organizational skills with changing priorities and experience implementing systems preferred. Microsoft Office experience and the ability to create slides and presentations using PowerPoint. Scheduling/Organization experience preferred. |
