Position Summary:
The Market Developer (MD) will work with the Zone Sales Leader (ZSL) to achieve full and sustainable market saturation in selected Express channels and geographies. The MD will execute project plans for target markets, coordinate planning, and review sessions with key stakeholders. The MD role will complete tasks within a defined timeline for achieving desired saturation rates. The MD role will also monitor and track key standards and metrics, identifying solutions that drive continuous improvement. The MD must be a highly motivated individual with sales background, and leads with behaviors that encourage innovation, change, and teamwork.

Position Requirements:

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support achievement of zero workplace injuries by following and coaching all BBU safety principles and beliefs within the Grupo Bimbo (GB) safety platform.
  • Engage in market development tours based on customer lists, service details, and new store information.
  • Execute weekly saturation tours with an emphasis on the value of DSD and BBU's brands.
  • Achieve all DSDE Key Objectives and Results (DKORs) for MD role.
  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of new accounts are achieved; first day set up, proper orders, and alleviating customer concerns.
  • Communicates and ensures frontline are enabled and achieving weekly store goals.
  • Continuously seek out new business opportunities and ways to optimize sales effectiveness.
  • Ensure a successful onboarding process by coordinating appointments, follow-up calls, and customer service reviews.
  • Track and report on DKORs to identify areas of improvement.
  • Participate in location specific weekly meetings to ensure playbook tasks are completed on time.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans against them.
  • Coordinate efforts with cross-functional sales operations teams to align on and achieve market saturation goals.

Education and Work History:

College degree preferred. A combination of High School Diploma plus training and DSD sales experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work can be considered.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in similar market development role.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required, as well as proficiency with data analysis, training material creation and developing and managing soliciting tools.
  • Proven knowledge of growth opportunities in the express-format channel
  • Understanding of express-format DSD structures and operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in identifying ways to sustainably grow and improve the business in partnership with other frontline leaders.
  • Ability to leverage information to understand and develop effective business strategies with cross-functional alignment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language is a plus.
  • Travel is required, 25%
