SUMMARY:

We are looking to hire an experienced Sr Accountant, Revenue, to join our Revenue Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role will be a key contributor to the Finance team in managing day-to-day accounting from invoice billing to revenue reporting. This role is also expected to be highly self-motivated in driving process improvement and adaptive to a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts, including invoicing, cash application, contract analysis, preparation/review of monthly revenue, and deferred revenue reconciliations.
  • Review customer contracts and billings for non-standard terms, multiple elements, and to ensure that revenue has been recognized accurately and timely in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Perform quarterly fair value pricing (FVP) analysis.
  • Maintain deferred revenue schedule and service revenue schedule
  • Continuously improve revenue operating and reporting process, including driving system improvement in the NetSuite ARM system.
  • Co-owner of the Order-to-Cash cycle and drive the improvement process and compliance with SOX control.
  • Support the Sales and Use Tax team to ensure proper invoicing and timely collection of the exemption certificate.
  • Provide sufficient support in assisting sales and use tax review and filings for domestic states and Canada. Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to support business partners such as Marketing and Sales.
  • Assist manager to prepare 10Q and 10K revenue and gross margin disclosure schedule and footnotes.
  • Interact with Internal Audit to address revenue related control deficiencies and assist manager in remediating and enhancing SOX controls and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Work closely with other finance team members and cross functional departments such as Sales, FP&A, Operation (Shipping and Warehouse) and Legal.
  • Monitor, recommend, and implement improvements to current methodologies & practices.
  • Maintain annual revenue related memorandums, document any significant new transaction types.
  • Proactively participate in process improvement and ad-hoc projects independently or under manager's guidance.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors regarding revenue and proactively resolve all revenue-related issues.
  • Mentor A/R billing/collection accountant and staff accountant in addition to day-to-day accounting responsibilities.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by manager.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 4-7 years of relevant business experience, manufacturing or construction a plus and prior exposure to ASC 606 a must.
  • CPA and bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
  • Experience in performing technical revenue research, determining revenue treatment for non-standard sales.
  • Prior experience using a mid or large ERP system a must, with NetSuite and Advance Revenue Management (ARM module) highly preferred, Sales Force exposure a plus.
  • Prior public company experience in an international setting and familiar with SOX.
  • Must be able to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize work assignments for efficiency
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver results and meet expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of general accounting concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
