Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Director of Donor Experience is an entrepreneurial leader and manager, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Advancement Planning and Development. The incumbent provides leadership, coaching and gift strategy development for a team of donor experience officers focusing on mid-level donor acquisition and retention. This position develops and implements innovative strategies with his/her direct reports for identifying, cultivating, and successfully soliciting mid-level gifts with the goal of creating a strong pipeline of donors that support UAMS educational, research and patient care programs. They work closely with the AVC in devising, testing and implementing processes and strategies for success within the team. This position will maintain an ongoing group portfolio, including annual goals for supporting their team to exceeding individual metrics and goals. They will maintain productive, positive relationships with senior leadership across the enterprise. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, public works, business, philanthropy, communications, political science or marketing or related field plus six (6) years of fundraising or related experience, preferably in raising major or annual gifts in an educational, research, or health care setting.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation and insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in communications, public relations, public works, business, philanthropy, communications, political science or marketing plus four (4) years of major or annual gifts in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Certification:

  • CFRE

Responsibilities:

  • Follow procedures for assuring that donor records are updated in the centralized donor record system for UAMS (known as Affinaquest) and input contact reports and other information in the system to ensure the integrity of donor records and to record relevant historical information.

  • Build and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors from whom to solicit gifts from $1,000 to $25,000 with goal of building a pipeline to major and planned gifts.

  • Cultivate both engaged and non-engaged prospects, including making cold calls and visits to expand our constituent outreach efforts.

  • Successfully engage with donors within a best-practice major-gifts methodology.

  • Exceed annual metrics including those tracking engagement activity, proposals and dollars raised.

  • Eagerly utilize prospect identification and research tools and software to build a robust and diversified portfolio of prospects and donors with affinities across the institution.

  • Possess a willingness to travel frequently around the state to meet with regional staff, advisory committee meetings, and potential donors.

  • Manages and leads a team of donor experience officers to ensure attainment and exceeding of annual goals.

  • Fosters a professional, positive, ethical, supportive, fast-paced, innovative, motivational and fun culture.

  • Proactively provides support and guidance of patient fundraising best practices to fellow development officers.

  • Works with Prospect Research Analyst and other members of Institutional Advancement team to assure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.

  • Collaborate with external partners to implement innovative donor acquisition and retention strategies to enhance the major gift pipeline.

  • Analyze various donor metrics to identify trends, measure success, and refine strategies, including identifying number of upgrade gifts, number of lapsed donors reactivated, and number of donors moved up the giving society tiers.

  • Collaborates closely with the annual giving team on appeals, giving societies, and stewardship messaging.

  • Collaborates closely with the annual giving team on giving societies strategies and renewal activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
